Days of "47

The Mormon Pioneers came into the Salt Lake Valley in July 24th 1847. Every July 24th we have a state wide celebration called Pioneer days or Days of "47. Every year there are parades, fireworks and rodeos. Ever year the Days of "47 Parade display their floats a few days before the parade for the public to have a change to look at them close up. This is one of my kids favorite things to do. While you are looking there is entertainment going on and you get to vote on your favorite float. Here are a few floats that were our favorites.
First off we have Maddy helping Grandma clean up before we left.

This is one of all of our favorites. Its about the Title of Liberty. There were many things that represented freedom here. In the front is a soldier pulling a hand cart and also a bride and groom

Here is Caption Moroni

This one you can see a girl by her bed side saying her prayer as well as 3 different U.S. Presidents

This was another favorite. It represented music and dance. The front was a western theme, the middle was the 1920s' and the back was the 1950. It was so much fun

This float was made completely by quilts. All quilts were donated to a shelter after the parade.

Of course the BYU float. :)

This float represented the 4 LDS Temples in the Salt Lake Valley

Draper Utah Temple

Oquirrh Mountain Utah Temple

Jordan River Utah Temple

And the Salt Lake Utah Temple
