Should I be scared???

Who's feet are these???
Why, they're Cole's.

Cole loves shoes! If I don't get to my shoes fast enough on Sundays and put them away he will find them and put them on. Now its not a big deal when he gets a hold of my flip flops but when he starts wearing my heals around... well that kinda scares me. :)

The week after Ike

On Wednesday Sept 17th the zoo in down town Houston re-opened after the hurricane so Jamie, Sarah and I took the kids up there to visit and see how some of our relitives fared duing the storms. (Im talking about the monkeys. hehehe) All the animals seemed to being just fine. All were back in there cages exept for the marine life (ie. seals, and so forth) and also the animals at the petting zoo area. They had all been evacuated and moved to other zoos aound Texas and hadnt made it back yet.

Relient Satduim. Home of the Houston Texans. On our way home we went the way of Main Street. We past right by Relient Satduim and saw the damages Ike did to the place there. They had some roof damage but I am not sure what else. You can see the natural sky lights there. Not a normal look for the stadium.

The baby elephants out having fun together in the great weather. The weather on Wendsday was great. Well actually it was great all week long
These monkeys had the ugliest faces I have ever seen. The looked like a mix between cats, monkeys and rats.
The orangatangs were having a great time .
Kyla, David, Matthew, Kaycee, James and Cole had a blast at the zoo. I just love this picture. They are all the best of friends. We love you Kyla and DavidAlso one bonus of having Ben home all week because of his jobs sites with out power and not able to go in to work, was Kaycee got to learn how to ride her 2 wheeler.

This is Kaycee all decked out in her gear.
Daddy helping Kaycee learn how to stay up. It took awhile. She keep leaning toward Daddy for support. Look At Kaycee go. Dad still needs to run right next to her but she is getting it.DAD FREE. Way to go Kaycee. Still needing dad to run next to her for support though
Completley dad fee. Go Kaycee, Go

NO SCHOOL

Ok So I just found out the there will be NO school for the rest of this week. WHAT AM I GOING TO DO. No school, 4 kids, 8+ months prego and no McDonalds or Chic-fal-A to go to so the kids can let off some steam. All I can say is the city better not come move all the branchs away from the midlle of my cult-a-sac until school is back in. That has at least intertained James and his group of friends.

More pictures

Ok here are some more pictures for you. I guess I can only load so many pictures at a time. The power did go out at around 11:30pm on Friday night Sept 12 and then we were one of the lucky ones to have the power restored on Saturday at around 5pm. As far as I know there are many people still with out power.

Today was the first day I was able to go out and get milk and cheese. It was limited to 3 gallons of milk per person and 3 cartons of eggs per person. But I was glad, I didn't want to start deinking the powdered milk. Yuck not my favorite drink. :)
Looking down the cult-a-sac Saturday morning. It was still a bit windy and rainy.
Our sleeping quarters for Friday night.
The tree that was half down.
Ben out cutting the fallen leaves down. Some of the bags of leaves and branches we colected. ALL the neighbors have about the same amont of bags out in their front yard.

The aftermath

What Ike left for us!
As most of you know we faired out of this storm prettyt well. Thank heavens. It was a long and loud night but we maid it. We lost the fence in the back yard and a tree out front but no real damage. Ben Cut the branchs out of the tree Saturday morning and yesterday we were able to get out to home dept so Ben could fix the fence. So as far as aour yard we are done. Here are a few pictures of the damage and stuff
The night sky on Friday night. The sunset was amazing.
Cole and James playing around before bed Friday night.
What the storm looked like form the satalite. Look how big that monster was.
The back yard fence. Notice the neighbors pool in the back ground
The other part of the fence that blew down.
