On Wednesday Sept 17th the zoo in down town Houston re-opened after the hurricane so Jamie, Sarah and I took the kids up there to visit and see how some of our relitives fared duing the storms. (Im talking about the monkeys. hehehe) All the animals seemed to being just fine. All were back in there cages exept for the marine life (ie. seals, and so forth) and also the animals at the petting zoo area. They had all been evacuated and moved to other zoos aound Texas and hadnt made it back yet.
Relient Satduim. Home of the Houston Texans. On our way home we went the way of Main Street. We past right by Relient Satduim and saw the damages Ike did to the place there. They had some roof damage but I am not sure what else. You can see the natural sky lights there. Not a normal look for the stadium.

The baby elephants out having fun together in the great weather. The weather on Wendsday was great. Well actually it was great all week long

These monkeys had the ugliest faces I have ever seen. The looked like a mix between cats, monkeys and rats.

The orangatangs were having a great time .

Kyla, David, Matthew, Kaycee, James and Cole had a blast at the zoo. I just love this picture. They are all the best of friends. We love you Kyla and David

Also one bonus of having Ben home all week because of his jobs sites with out power and not able to go in to work, was Kaycee got to learn how to ride her 2 wheeler.
This is Kaycee all decked out in her gear.
Daddy helping Kaycee learn how to stay up. It took awhile. She keep leaning toward Daddy for support.
Look At Kaycee go. Dad still needs to run right next to her but she is getting it.
DAD FREE. Way to go Kaycee. Still needing dad to run next to her for support though
Completley dad fee. Go Kaycee, Go

YAY Kaycee!!! Audrey's training wheels were off for a whopping 5 minutes after we changed her back tube. Ben tried to teach her, but she started crying and saying she wanted her training wheels back on. Guess we'll try again in a while.
Hey Kristie, how do you make it so that you know if I put up a new post like that. You can see what the current post title is on my link. How do you do that?
