What the .....

Cole came down the other day wearing this get-up saying he was going to a wedding. So I asked him if he was going to be the bride. :)

Then Cole decided to be a flower child. I think I need to hide Kaycees dress up clothes from this kid. What do ya think?

Teacher apprieciation

The first week of May was teacher appriecialtion week here at the elementary school
It was a lot of fun.

Picture #1 is of the decoration we set up in the Extended day room for the luncheons we gave the teachers all week long.

Picture #2 are of James' teacher. Mrs. Zimmerman was James 2nd grade teacher and Mrs. Baker is James' teacher this year.

Pictures 3, 4, 5, and 6 are of the pretty pot and flower Kaycees class gave her teacher. Each student put their finger print on the pot and then our room mom turned the prints into a bug. Kaycee is a butterfly.

I think Mrs. Thompson really enjoyed her gift.

George Ranch Historical Park

For James last field trip as a 3rd grader we went to the George Ranch Historical Park. It was a lot of fun.

A little about the George Ranch Historical Park

The George Ranch Historical Park's history follows family lines beginning in 1824 when Texas was still part of Mexico. The first Texas pioneers settled near the Brazos River. In the years since, the Ranch has passed through four generations and grown into one of Fort Bend County's landmarks.
Today, the George Ranch is a 23,000-acre working ranch. The family's original "home place" is at the core of the George Ranch Historical Park where the legends and legacies of those who shaped this place come to life every day. Authentic locations, historic homes, costumed presenters and a remarkable story of determination and courage set the stage for trekking through Texas history.

Here is James 3rd grade class by the old tree
James and his friend Jacob
One of the "cowboys" that helped us on the tour.
James' class coming down the stairs of the huge tree house. This tree house was built by Mr. George for the kids that lived on the ranch
Look at those limbs!
Look at that amazing tree trunk!
An old sewing machine owned my Mamie George
These pictures are for you dad. Mr. George died back in the 1940's. These were his shootings from before he past away. This was I think my most favorite room. :)
These were in the George Ranch House

Davis Victorian Mansion.
The Original Family Cemetery:The family cemetery was started in the 1820s with the last burial in 1916
Oldenburg Blacksmith: Learn the importance of the blacksmith trade as you watch our craftsmen at work. As in older days, our blacksmith makes most of the metal tools and equipment needed on the Ranch.
This was really fun and interesting to watch.
